![]() I'll admit I've never worked on the old alarm systems and haven't heard of "supervised keypads" so not sure if you'd have an issue there. (Also not sure if my system has a “supervised keypad” and if said supervision would detect the change and reject it once it booted back up.) Or should I bite the bullet and buy a Telus system piecemeal even though I might move into a cellular wilderness sometime next year? Or scrounge on eBay and the like for a replacement BHS-1202/BHS-2000 keypad? I’m not concerned about installing one, but not sure about condition since there doesn’t seem to be any new old stock floating around. Our current system, of course, uses a landline connection.)ĭoes anyone have any suggestions on a possible compatible system? One that also supports wired sensors and an optional land line connection would be a huge plus. (I’m assuming the Telus system uses cellular data as either a primary or a backup if the wifi goes offline. Reading some posts however makes me wonder if I should instead look for a 3rd party system, compatible with Telus monitoring, but not locked to Telus should I need to move my system outside of Telus’s network coverage. I pay annually for my Telus-ADT monitoring at a slightly reduced rate, and I don’t want to get into any contracted 3-year plan at higher prices, preferring to buy the new sensors and control panel outright. Right now i have only two sensors i care about - the entry door, and the smoke detector - having disabled the motion detector thanks to my frisky cats. I contacted Telus and after a god-awful runaround was basically told i needed to upgrade the system to their new wireless product. I took the keypad apart and cleaned the contacts with isopropyl alcohol to no noticeable improvement. ![]() Several of the most often used keys aren’t working reliably, if at all. Hi all! I have an 24-year-old legacy Brinks BHS-2000 security system which has survived the transition from Brinks to ADT and ADT to Telus, and now the alarm keypad is finally wearing out.
